Setting aside time to do a Bible study can be challenging, but once you make the effort, it’s astonishing how the Lord multiplies your time. I’ve gathered some of my favorite Bible studies I know will fill you with inspiration and motivation to keep growing your relationship with Christ.
My friend, author and pastor Rob Morgan, builds a grand case for studying the Bible and even memorizing Scripture in his book, 100 Bible Verses Everyone Should Know by Heart. In the below quote, he gives us fifteen or more actions and blessings Bible verses do for us. These are HUGE!!! Check it out:
“Bible verses are high-powered doses of truth that mainline God’s wisdom into our reasoning.
They convert the soul,
Teach the simple,
Rejoice the heart, and
Enlighten the eyes. (Psalm 19:7-9)
They teach,
Reprove,
Correct, and
Instruct, making us profitable in every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
They fill our minds with the kind of realities that produce prosperity and success in every good work. (Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 1:1-3)
Bible verses are
Our counselors and our delights,
Ready to revive us when we’re fainting,
Guide us when we’re confused, and
Strengthen us when we’re weak. (Psalm 119:24-28)
They are our comfort in affliction (Psalm 119:50),
Our songs for the journey (Psalm 119:54), and
Our most valuable assets (Psalm 119:72);
For when we read and study God’s Word,
We’re cultivating a relationship with Him who made us,
Who loved us,
Who gave Himself for us on Calvary, and
Who rose again that we might inherit eternal life.”
May we cling to 2 Peter 3:18 that says, “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
